Our mission is to educate and empower members of the building community with the knowledge and tools needed to successfully implement green building practices in their projects.

GreenStep was founded on the notion that widespread awareness and understanding are key to minimizing the costs and maximizing the benefits of sustainable design and construction practices. The LEED standards have played a major role in transforming the building industry and have set the bar for high-performance buildings. However, LEED is intended to be a tool, not an end result. With this in mind, GreenStep is committed to providing professionals from all backgrounds with the knowledge and skills to understand and successfully implement the LEED Rating System, enabling projects to approach their full potential.

All of our programs & workshops, whether they be LEED Exam Training classes, Continuing Education courses or the Professional Project Experience Program, are led by Alex Spilger, GreenStep’s President & Founder, who combines his passion for education with his experience working on over 40 diverse LEED projects across all LEED Rating Systems. In addition to his extensive LEED project management experience, Alex has taught over 70 LEED workshops, assisting over 1,000 industry professionals in preparing for the LEED exam. With a participant pass rate of over 95%, our results speak for themselves.
